After a successful Kickstarter campaign, we were finally able to begin the editing process upon our return from the Colgate World Cup in Sylt. We spent October logging our new footage, and then sent off a hard drive (with all 150+ hours of footage!) to our editor Alex Jablonski in LA.

Born in San Fransisco,  Alex is a filmmaker, editor and post-production supervisor who began his career in the editorial department for Spike Lee’s 40 Acres & A Mule Filmworks. He has worked on numerous films including She Hate Me and Inside Man. In 2010, Alex was named to Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film” for his documentary series “Sparrow Songs.” His films have played at Tribeca Film Festival, True/False, Full Frame, MassMOCA and the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art. He holds an MFA in Film from UCLA. We are lucky to have him join the team of Children of the Wind!

We plan to have a rough cut of the film finished by mid February, after which we will make a final trip to Bonaire to film some additional clips and moments we are missing. The final steps after editing is completed will be to licence and compose a soundtrack, color correct, and sound mix. Our goal is to complete the film by June 2011 in time for the Cannes Film Festival submission deadline. This mostly depends on funds we receive to complete this final stage. We are currently looking for sponsors and individual donations.
